Description
When we feel taken over by our emotions, it can seem like it comes out of nowhere and knocks us off our feet.Given the increase in new or chronic stress and trauma, more people are emotionally reactive. When feeling intense emotions, people can act on their emotions in a disproportionate way(s), leading to life-changing consequences. While several effective treatment modalities help patients reduce their intense emotions, gaining a practical understanding of our emotional bodies can allow us to go deeper into our experiences with ourselves more consciously. This can help to increase emotional regulation in a shorter time. This four-hour workshop will walk you through your elemental emotional village. In doing so, you will become educated in how emotions become anchors for triggers, gain strength over time, and then take over automatically when triggered (autonomous complexes). In this seminar, you will learn how to:Identify the emotional characters in your elemental villageDevelop a healthy ability to consciously recognize and experience your emotions without becoming reactiveDecide the healthiest response at the moment to an emotionally triggering eventEvent Details This training is open to the public and clinicians. It is recommended for counselors, marriage and family therapists, psychologists, and social workers.
