This will be a half-day field trip to survey shorebirds in Southeast Idaho. We’ll be visiting Black’s Creek Bird Reserve, Indian Creek Reservoir, and Wilson Springs Ponds, which will take about 4 hours in total. We will meet in Southeast Boise and carpool to our sites.
Many shorebirds migrate through Idaho on their way to breeding grounds, including Long-billed Curlews, American Avocets, and Greater Yellowlegs.
Please bring water, snacks, and binoculars if you have them, and please pay attention to the weather and dress appropriately to be outside for 3+ hours!
Binoculars are available to those who need them! Please register by April 22nd to ensure you can borrow binoculars, availability for later registrations is dependent on how many other participants requested them.
This event is intended for ages 30 and under but all are welcome. If you are accompanying a minor please count yourself as a participant so that we do not exceed our participant limit!
