The Mr & Miss Juneteenth Pageant is open to 1yr olds - Seniors in High school. The Juneteenth Pageant is a opportunity for our communities to come together & Celebrate a wonderful day in History. Juneteenth is a Nation Holiday that celebrates June 19th 1865 when Major General Gordon Granger and Union Army troops marched to Galveston, Texas, to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation and free the last enslaved Black Americans. This Pageant is a wonderful opportunity for our children to be reflections of greatness, have self pride, confidence & build self esteem. -This is a Formal Pageant- There will also be a scholarship essay contest as well for graduating Seniors.
