On April 13, 1886, the newly opened Sanchez y Haya cigar company on 7th Avenue became the first place in Ybor City to roll a cigar. Soon after, we earned our nickname: Cigar City. We're proud to pay homage to Ignacio Haya, carrying the spirit of the founding fathers and cigar artisans who came here to establish Ybor City.
