Join us as the Louisiana Board of Regents hosts its first Untapped Talent Summit on April 28th, 2023, at the Pennington Conference Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The theme for the Summit is Unlocking Possibilities Together. This inaugural event is aimed at uncovering the additional damage inflicted upon those that have been justice-impacted and justice-involved, even after they have paid their debt to society, and spreading awareness of the value this untapped population can bring to local business and industry. This population not only provides an important labor solution, but also can advance reunited families’ stability, economic development, and general community betterment. Regents is collaborating with other workforce partner agencies and non-profits and is reaching out to you to join us as we lean more fully into developing Louisiana’s Talent who have been involved with the justice system. The sentiment of giving those with a criminal record a fair chance for career success and upward mobility is the thrust, focus, and intent of our state’s first Untapped Talent convening. The Summit Planning Team has curated a line-up of engaging and informative sessions to help businesses and other stakeholders understand how to remove barriers to success and engage this labor pool, that has historically been overlooked, maybe even discriminated against, but definitely untapped.
