This class will be held over 2 separate sessions, on Sunday, April 16th and Sunday, April 30th from 10:30-12:30pm each day. Meet up at Fabulous Yarn in Tivoli, NY, on 2 Sundays in April where Hudson-based fiber artist, Lizz Hill Wiker will lead a beginner’s knitting workshop. She will teach you everything you need to know to start and complete your own project. Over the course of 2 classes, students will learn the basics of knitting including, casting on, the knit stitch, the purl stitch and binding off. Lizz will also provide an overview of how to select yarns and needles and will get you familiar with common knitting tools and reading patterns. No prior experience is required. Class Dates: 1st session- Sunday, April 16th, 10:30-12:30pm 2nd session- Sunday, April 30th, 10:30-12:30pm PURCHASING YOUR MATERIALS Before the hands-on demos begin, you will get a walk-through of Fabulous Yarn where Lizz will explain the basics of shopping for yarn and needles, the kinds of yarn weights that are available (and recommended for new knitters) and you will have a chance to shop for the yarn and tools that you will use during the class. You will need to purchase these materials during the 1st class, payment made directly to Fabulous Yarn. Cost of these materials will typically range from $25-50 depending on your selection.
