Planting beach grass helps to build the dunes which in turn, creates habitat, increases coastal resiliency to storms, and is a wonderful community building event. Dunes are crucial for protecting beaches and nearby communities during storms and providing habitat for all sorts of coastal life. Dune grass is the glue that holds dunes in place and helps them grow. Please bring a towel, shvel or stick to help with planting. Please dress for the weather.
