Blue Zones Project not only wants the community to be healthier - we want to help make your homes healthier too! That's why we have created a Healthy Homes Talk Series. Every month, we will offer a new discussion of ways you can be healthier in your home with local leading experts! Keep checking the events page for more monthly talks coming soon!
Our first Healthy Homes Talk is from the creator of SoHome Collective, Amber Clark. She will discuss why houseplants are a beautiful addition to any home as well as good for you!
Clark has been around plants her entire life. Her grandmother had huge gardens that were separated by purpose. One for cut flowers, one for all other flowers and vegetables, and one massive garden just for strawberries. Her aunt had a collection of indoor violets. In college, Clark purchased a dieffenbachia and named it Fred. Her love of gardens and houseplants has continued and grown over the years. Her business, SoHome, was created when she realized she was driving to larger cities to purchase her houseplants. She decided to open a store in Walla Walla to share her love of plants with the community. Clark sources the healthiest and most unique species she can, and shares her knowledge of care. She takes it personally when someone says they can’t keep a plant alive and helps those who struggle.
The first 24 people who attend the event will receive a SoHome houseplant.
Kontos Cellars has graciously donated their space for the talk. Wine will be available for purchase during the event.
