Performers: Milan's Mauro Bonfanti will join us to sing for one night only, accompanied by pianist Lorenzo Marasso, to perform an operatic Spring Recital. Mauro is a renowned baritone and singing teacher that has debuted over 40 operatic roles in 12 countries around the world. He studied under Luciano Pavarotti and has performed with Andrea Bocelli, Renato Bruson, and many others. Born in Torino, Lorenzo is a well known and accomplished conductor, concert pianist, chamber musician, educator, and radio host. The event is brought to you by the Comites of San Francisco in collaboration with Il Punto and the Istituto Italiano di Cultura di San Francisco. Bovio Sogno - Tosti My way - Paul Anka La ci darem la mano - Mozart, "Don Giovanni” Libiamo - Verdi, "La Traviata” Performers: MAURO BONFANTI Baritone and singing teacher with almost 40 operatic roles debuted in 12 countries around the world. He has the honor of having been one of the last students of Luciano PAVAROTTI. He sang with artists such as Andrea BOCELLI, Renato BRUSON and many others. He has sung in Theaters such as: Maggio Musicale in Florence, Carlo Felice in Genoa, Comunale in Bologna, Sala Nervi in the Vatican, Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago, Shanghai Opera House, Donizetti in Bergamo, Operà de Nice, National Opera in Bucharest , etc ... He taught singing at the Talent Show of Canale 5 "Amici" by Maria DE FILIPPI, his credit for having brought Alberto Urso, overall winner of the 2018 edition. He is President and Founder of the "Santa Gianna Beretta Molla" International Opera Competition in Mesero (Mi), which has successfully reached its sixth edition. His recordings are present on the major world platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, etc ... Graduated with honors from the Department of Art, Music and Performing Arts (DAMS) of the State University of Turin and in opera singing from the Aosta Conservatory. From December 2022 he moved with his family to Bellevue(Wa), after obtaining a work visa for Extraordinary Artistic Abilities from the American Government. LORENZO MARASSO Lorenzo Marasso is an impassioned and sympathetic conductor, concert pianist, chamber musician, educator and radio host. Lorenzo’s performances have been broadcast in numerous media outlets, including Seattle’s 98.1 Classical King FM and NPR. In 2021 Lorenzo founded the Seattle Chamber Orchestra and is serving now as the ensemble’s music director. In the same year he also started hosting a weekly radio program called Dress Rehearsal on 107.3FM KBFG Seattle. From 2012 to 2016 Lorenzo, while in Los Angeles, was Music Director of String Orchestra Project, an ensemble devoted to performing the chamber orchestral repertoire with no boundaries of styles or combination of players. Under Lorenzo’s baton and artistic directorship, the group has presented a regular season of concerts featuring repertoire spanning from J.S. Bach and W.A. Mozart to P. Hindemith and S. Reich. Lorenzo was born in Torino, Italy and graduated from the Conservatorio di Milano in 1994. The same year, he enrolled in the postgraduate program at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he also studied orchestral conducting. Lorenzo currently lives in the Seattle area where he continues his activity of solo, chamber musician and educator and enjoys collaborations with the University of Washington and Seattle University. ABOUT COMITES: Established in 1985, the Committees of Italian abroad (Comites) are representative bodies of the Italian community, directly elected by the Italian nationals living abroad in each consular district. They contribute to identifying the social, cultural and civil development needs of the community of reference, also through studies and research. Jointly with the consular authorities, the regions and local authorities, as well as with bodies, associations and committees operating within the consular district, they also promote appropriate initiatives in matters pertaining to social and cultural life.
