Refugee and immigrant populations struggle to access medical and/or social services due to a number of institutional and systemic challenges. The accessibility of available and needed culturally-meaningful healthcare and social care services drives health disparities within these populations. In this CHC we will identify specific prevalent regional barriers, existing resources, and prioritize future state with engaged stakeholders.
Each participant will have equal opportunity to share their direct experience and/or work with refugee and immigrant communities to inform future priorities and access existing resources.
Community partners attending are encouraged to bring materials related to their work to offer direct assistance and share during networking opportunities.
Community partners are encouraged to invite individuals with any and all residents, clients, and professionals that serve this population.
Community partners are encouraged to share this opportunity with other organizations and colleagues.
