Guiding Eyes for the Blind is urgently seeking volunteer puppy raisers & sitters to join our Westchester, Dutchess & surrounding puppy raising regions! Join us for an in-person information session highlighting this essential volunteer role, where you would raise a puppy for 14-18 months providing it with love, socialization, house manners and basic obedience that it will need to succeed in guide dog training. We also are looking for sitters to help provide short-term relief for puppy raisers once every month or two for around 2-10 days, depending on the need. No previous dog experience is required and volunteers ages 10+ are welcome with the support of an adult. Come learn more-- about volunteering to raise one of our purposeful puppies, the support we provide, hear from some of our dedicated volunteers about their experiences and see the incredible difference a guide dog can make to someone experiencing vision loss.
