Presented by Sankofa Community Strategists, this Black Maternal Health Weekend event series will bring together Black women and women aligned fox from across the State of Arkansas to discuss current trends in Black maternal health. This is a public event intended to bring awareness and increase education on Black women's reproductive healthcare and choices.
Day one will consist of a ‘Lunch and Learn’ with public health professionals and legislative officials working to advance equity in reproductive care. Participants will have an opportunity to hear about pending legislation that could impact their reproductive choices, and learn about the landscape of reproductive healthcare within the State of Arkansas.
Day two will feature a public screening of the documentary film on Black women's reproductive choice and a community talkback session, followed by an opportunity for attendees to get to know local birthworkers that specialize in Black maternal healthcare.
