Join Reconnecting to Our Waterways (ROW), Indianapolis Department of Public Works (DPW), Indy Arts Council, Health by Design (HbD), and community activists for a fun and educational event for Indy residents. In the Know with ROW: Tactical Urbanism 101 will cover three main topics: basics of tactical urbanism, an introduction to trail maintenance, leading community cleanups, and more. Learn from the City's experts, connect with neighbors and community partners, and learn how you can support pedestrian infrastructure in Indianapolis. The event will include a Q&A and have take-home resources for you continue to build upon, and perhaps act, on what you have learned at this event.
Join us on Thursday, April 27 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Brookside Park Family Center (3500 Brookside Pkwy S Dr, Indianapolis, IN 46201). Registration is requested.
In the Know with ROW (ITKWR) are a series of educational events meant to bring together ROW’s collective experts with community members to talk about issues and efforts that can increase knowledge and care of our waterways. Introduction to Tactical Urbanism (Policy Overview, Eligible Elements, Project Examples, Constraints, Working with DPW, Organizing a Project, Maintenance)Introduction to Trail Maintenance (DPW Trail Maintenance and Operations Teams, Navigating Flora Permits)Leading Community Cleanups (Community Experiences, Organizing Groups and Community Outreach & Engagement)And include a Q&A portion to address any questions during the presentation.
