Wild Dill Farm wants you to experience making your own soap using skin-loving ingredients like olive oil, coconut oil and more. Soap making is a combination of cooking and chemistry. In this class you will learn the basics of all natural hot press saponification and the many ways you can play and change your end results. You will go home with a detailed handout that you can refer to again and again, as well as two bars of your custom blended soap. This will be a fun Mother’s Day option or just a good time with friends. And of course, a beer is included with class! During the hands-on portion of class each small group will be provided with all of the supplies, equipment, and guidance to: -Select and blend essential oils to fragrance your soap -Select additives and coloring -Mix your own lye solution -Mix and pour the soap into the mold IMPORTANT FAQs: WARNING: Sodium Hydroxide (lye) is a caustic substance, so please handle with caution. Rubber gloves and eye protection is mandatory and will be provided. Long sleeves are suggested. All participants must sign a liability waiver to participate. This is an outdoor event. If the weather is unfriendly, we will relocate indoors. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult, and have a ticket.
