LA County's Economic Opportunity Grant Program Now Open to Eligible Microbusinesses, Small Businesses and Nonprofits Economic Opportunity Grant (EOG) will award more than $54 million across 6,800 grants to regions and organizations in Los Angeles County adversely affected by COVID-19. Phase 2: February 23, 2023 - May 20, 2023 Grants of $15,000 for microbusinesses with under $100,000 in revenue in either 2019, 2020, or 2021 taxable years that are located and operating in the County of Los Angeles, excluding City of Los Angeles; must have started prior to December 30, 2021. Requirements: Must have a physical location and is headquartered in Los Angeles County. Is currently active and operating since at least December 2019. Significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Had less than $50,000 in revenue in the 2019 taxable year Has fewer than 5 full-time equivalent employees currently and in the 2020 taxable year based on self-attestation on a valid application. Had fewer than 5 full time equivalent employees in 2019 based on tax filings. Owner must provide an acceptable form of government-issued photo ID such as: - Driver’s License, State ID or Foreign ID, Passport or Foreign Passport Owner applying for the grant must be the majority owner and manager of the qualified microbusiness and the qualifying microbusiness must be the owner’s primary means of income in the 2019 taxable year. Owner must not be ineligible from participation in the California Small Business COVID- 19 Relief Grant Program or have already receive a grant through this program. Small Businesses must have annual gross revenue of under $2M Priority on food industry business types Additionally, street vendors, sole proprietors, LLCs, LLPs, other for-profit structures are eligible business types Must have brick-and-mortar location in LA County (excluding City of LA and street vendors) Applicant Certification Signed and unaltered Federal 2019 Tax Returns (All Pages must be submitted) Official filing w/ the California Secretary of State (must be active) or a local municipality, as applicable for the business, verified through: - Articles of Incorporation - Certificate of Organization - Fictitious Business Name Filing - Professional License - Government-issued business license (if current license is unavailable, an expired license with proof of renewal payment made
