Description
Introverts, shy and awkward or out-of-practice networkers, come and learn from a professional who has been networking since she was 15 years-old. Emmy Award-winning journalist Vanessa Nevarez and founder of VELA Network is teaching for the first time her networking secrets that have helped her build her network across news, politics and tech industries. Come learn networking reinvented from a hood girl making it simple and less scary pa' la gente for the community. Step up your networking game then have fun with a Bad Bunny-inspired networking mixer right after with canned hard seltzers and Agua Bonita canned non-alcoholic aguas frescas. April 1, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. We want to be respectful of everyone's learning environment during the networking class so we do ask for this to be a kid-free event. We also want to be respectful of everyone's privacy so we ask no recording of the class's entirety so everyone feels safe to ask questions. Casually recording is fine but recording the entire class is not permitted. If you have a concern on our no-recording policy please contact organizer. Thank you! Thank you to our sponsors Agua Bonita with flavors like Watermelon Chile, Hibiscus (Jamaica), and Pineapple Cucumber with “80% less sugar but 100% of the flavor of traditional aguas frescas" we thank them for being part of our event. Thirty Flirty Shop is the go-to shop in San Diego for sassy Latina-fied apparel, drinkware and lifestyle gear that speaks to the passionate Latina/x/e. Thirty Flirty Shop has been featured many times in local media. Brujas Cocina is an independent pop-up restaurant led by Chef Lety who has more than 10 years of experience in fine dining restaurants and has made elevated Mexican flavors with love and guided hands. Thank you for sponsoring tequila by Real Del Valle Tequila. About VELA VELA is a Spanglish derivative of "verla" shortened to "Ve la" which translates to see her. VELA is a network of empowering Latinx and Queens of Color (QOC) where culture and e-commerce intersect and bold, raw, resilient Chingonx who raise each other up and are of resource to each other in a safe entrepreneurial journey.
