Experience the railroading of yesteryear by traveling aboard the Middletown & Hummelstown Railroad. For only $100 (using promo code MHCHARTER at checkout before January 26th), you will experience 8 hours of shortline railroading on a storied railroad. We will be meeting at the M&H’s main depot in Middletown, PA (136 Brown Street, Middletown, Pennsylvania 17057) at 6:45AM, departing at 7:00AM, with an expected return time of 3:00PM. We will be riding TWO different period freight trains to selected locations from the railroad’s interchange at Middletown, Pennsylvania to the steel bridge over Swatara Creek, where stops will be made to witness classic ALCO and General Electric diesels put on a show for the cameras. The motive power featured will be ALCO S-6 #151 (wearing Western Maryland Paint) and GE 65 tonner #1 on their own respective trains, with quality scenes set up for photographers. The rolling stock includes historic freight railcars, specifically used to transport the attendee back in time. The excursion will include numerous actors, runbys, and extended time on the signature street running portion of the railroad to further enhance and immerse the attendee in the experience. This is the perfect opportunity to hop in a time machine to experience railroading as it was in the mid-late 20th century.
