Through this program, artists will be introduced to real estate developers seeking innovative connections to their communities. Art in Place  is the next step in Urban Land Institute’s ongoing commitment to  Creative Placemaking , a movement focused on the integration of art and culture , and creativity – in tandem with great real estate design, as levers of community and economic growth. This initial gathering will include opportunities for networking among developer peers interested in integrating art into their real estate development practices, basics of the Art in Place program, Q&A opportunities, and a brief introduction to the intersection of art and real estate development by thought leader and social entrepreneur Tim Jones, who will join the gathering via video conference from southern Ontario. Tim will be advising the Northwest Arkansas Art in Place cohort throughout 2023. About Tim Jones: As former CEO of Artscape, a Toronto-based not-for-profit organization focused on developing real estate projects, programs and services to empower artists and connect them to communities, Jones coined the term creative placemaking and as both an arts & culture leader and a real estate developer shares a unique perspective of both spheres.
