This event was born and thrived in East Texas! It started out for Lupus Awareness month. But he 91more that we learned about Lupus, we realized Autoimmune diseases goes right along with Lupus, thus Colors of Courage was born out of the need of the community of individuals and families that are dealing with these diseases. Hospital stays, loss of work, diseases progression, sick and in pain, not able to live their best life. Dr. Appts., surgeries, and the list goes on, and on. The organization, started out, at the beginning, first to address the needs of patients, in our great state of Texas. Two years into the program, Louisiana showed much interest and need. 3 years later, Arkansas and Oklahoma, got on board. Therefore, Texas hosts three other states, in order to help patients, and families, with their needs. Needs include, help with Dr. appts., co-pays, medication, rides to appts, day care, house, or rent notes, etc. So this event is about celebrate those STILL fighting, and also those who we have lost along the way through their fight! Come out and enjoy a day full of fun, Family, football, music, kids' fun, wonderful Vendors and an afterparty like none other! This is a family event, so bring your whole family and enjoy!
