Get ready to meet Dr. Steve Arounsack - an award-winning professor and filmmaker with almost 30 years of ethnographic field experience! He's a Hollywood expert in visual anthropology who's worked on the Oscar-nominated film Raya and the Last Dragon. His documentaries have been nationally broadcasted on PBS and screened at major Asian American film festivals. But that's not all - Dr. Arounsack is also a distinguished scholar who's earned prestigious awards like the Wang Family Excellence Award and the Sony Electronics Award for innovative teaching. He's currently a professor at California State University, Stanislaus where he directs the Keck Visual Anthropology Lab. And get this - in 2022, Dr. Arounsack spearheaded the U.S. Embassy’s largest public policy program in Laos in 50 years, partnering with Disney Global Public Policy and the American Film Showcase.
