There is a vibrant and growing creative community in and around Orange County which is producing engaging content that pushes the boundaries of student-led films. The inaugural Orange Film Festival (OFF) will put a spotlight on this local talent and showcase on the big screen a short list of the high caliber independent films that are being made outside of the classroom. OFF’s mission is to introduce audiences to a key cohort of the next generation of American and International filmmakers who are honing their craft in Orange County. THE WHO. Founded by a cross section of business, film, marketing, legal and communications students, OFF was born by a desire to celebrate the creativity and talent of local Orange County student filmmakers whose independent work largely goes unseen. Many of those featured in the Festival will go on to contribute important works to the film and television industry in the years ahead, as their alumni have before them. OFF provides a platform for this early talent to be seen outside of the classroom and encourage diverse approaches to story-telling. THE DETAILS. The inaugural Orange Film Festival will be held on April 29, 2023 at Orange County’s most celebrated arthouse cinemas - The Frida Cinema. The event will be moderated by an industry insider and feature a Q&A session with a special guest (to be announced leading into the festival). A short list of ten selected films will be shown to an audience of up to 412 guests. Social media and local media coverage will ensure a wider awareness of this inaugural event and provide opportunities for cross promotions.
