Shaper Origin is a handheld CNC machine made by Shapertools for creating 2D or 2.5D cuts on a wide range of materials. Simply put, it brings CNC-like precision and speed to the work area rather than having to take the workpiece to a CNC machine. Descriptive video This brings incredible precision, efficiency, and the ability to make complex cuts to your projects. Also, unlike a desktop CNC router, the Shaper Origin has no workpiece size limitations. In this introductory class we will instruct you on how: You set up your own personal account with Shaper which will allow you to create and store designs in their cloud repository and have your designs available in the Shaper tool software;You use the design and cutting tools on the Shaper tool;You secure your projects to the Shaper domino workspace;You set up your work grid and orient your design onto the work surface;You use the router bit to progressively complete your project.In this class you will make an attractive trivet with an interesting geometric design out of cherry hardwood.
