Please join us at the Warwick Melrose Hotel, Turtle Creek Ballroom, for our Spring Luncheon.Our luncheon, hosted by DFW Federal Club, will feature a panel discussion with distinguished guests; Tari Hanneman, Director of the Health and Aging Program at the Human Rights Campaign and Leslie McMurray, Transgender Education and Advocacy Associate for Dallas Resource Center. The panel will explore how our LGBTQ+ community addresses equitable and inclusive care. Julie Johnson, House District 115, will also speak on current Texas legislative issues and what is happening in Austin. We encourage all to attend. The dress is business casual Luncheon PanelistsTari Hanneman, Director of Health and Aging Program at HRC Campaign FoundationTari Hanneman (she/her) oversees the annual Healthcare Equality Index, the Long-Term Care Equality Index, and other projects related to LGBTQ+ health and aging. Tari has over 25 years of experience in the nonprofit and philanthropic sector, primarily focused on the areas of health and women’s issues. Prior to joining HRC, she served as the initial Director of The Women’s Fund of Winston-Salem where she led all aspects of developing The Fund’s programs and brand in the community. Prior to that, she served in a number of roles at The California Endowment, one of the nation's largest health foundations. She has also worked for elected officials and non-profits focused on the environment, reproductive rights, and HIV. She has an MPA with an emphasis on Nonprofit Management from the University of Southern California. Leslie McMurray, Transgender Education & Advocacy Coordinator, Dallas Resource CenterLeslie McMurray (she/her) was born and raised in Southern California. She spent 33 years in the radio and television business before transitioning and taking on the role of Transgender Education and Advocacy Associate for Resource Center Over the past decade, Leslie has conducted scores of trainings for a variety of entities…from Fortune 500 companies to the HR managers from the National Hockey League. She has trained medical students and law enforcement – even the EEOC! Leslie has two beautiful and successful daughters and 5 gorgeous grandchildren. Leslie lives in Coppell with her wife, Katie, and Border Collies “Breezy, Molly and Patches.” For fun, she’s a contributing columnist for the Dallas Voice and a frequent resource for Dallas Television and radio stations on issues relating to the Transgender community, and she’s a half decent bowler.
