Join Helen Putnam & JA McNear on a walking tour of downtown, highlighting Petaluma’s preservation and modernization efforts. In 1975, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Petaluma could “preserve its small town character” and “grow at an orderly and deliberate pace”. The Petaluma you see today is a direct result of policies put in place in the 1970s to do just that. Not every battle was a victory, but the results speak for themselves. Mayor Putnam and JA, who span a century, will speak for them too. And, Skip Sommer will make a special guest appearance!
