THE GREEN GIG Locally Grown Join us for an evening of coming together with great food, heartwarming stories and fun, in support and celebration of early childhood education. Now in its 12th year, The Green Gig™ continues from its base of supporting community! The fun-filled evening features an exquisite meal by area chefs and local makers, replete with beverages, desserts, music, raffles, and games. Funds raised through The Green Gig™ will provide budget support for GGHF Curious by Nature School and the Stewards Scholarship Fund tuition assistance program. The Cause. The Beneficiaries. GGHF Curious by Nature School is a Reggio Emilia-inspired, nature-based early learning program for children ages 2-10 serving the Gig Harbor and Key Peninsula communities. Our mission is to provide a premier early childhood environment to meet the social, emotional, physical, creative, and academic needs of each child, while introducing them into a lifelong, meaningful relationship with the natural world. Studies show that children who have frequent significant and meaningful experiences with nature, especially early in life, not only improve physical and psychological well-being, but are also far more likely to make healthier life choices for the rest of their lives. We believe every child should have access to early learning and experience the sense of wonder and discovery that comes from connections with nature. We are committed to continuing to serve the hundreds of students and their families each year and supporting those with financial need through the Stewards Scholarship Fund. The Goal To raise $30,000 annually for the GGHF Curious by Nature School, the Stewards Scholarship Fund and its endowment. Raised funds will support essential programs, provide early education scholarships and continue inspiring a lifelong love of learning through nature.
