Description

How to Paint Watercolor (Basic): (Weekly workshop) Learning how to paint watercolor has been the most fulfilling aspect of my art career. I have learned to appreciate color in so many ways and how you can easily transform something you see into your own form of art. Now let me show you. First week, we will go over some of my everyday materials and also ones that you can use to create with. Then, we will work on basic methods of painting watercolor through, making a color wheel, layering colors, color mixing, wet-n-wet method, dry brush method and more. All these basics of watercolor can be applied to all your future watercolor fun. Second week, we will talk and using the methods from the previous week on different types of papers. We will work on Cold-pressed, Hot-pressed, Mixed Media and Yupo paper. Third week, we will work on my favorite drawing method called, “blind contour drawing”. The last week, we will use the watercolor methods and this drawing style to create an image of Jacksonville. This workshop is to help you learn how to paint watercolor, and use the tools to create your own art for future projects. Come learn watercolor with me. I am so excited to paint with you. This workshop also includes a Dot card of the colors I use for painting, my How to Watercolor PDF printout, and a Round watercolor Brush. All supplies will be provided. Beginners Welcome!!! Class will occur every Wednesday. Last class will be on May 3rd. Teresa Cook is born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She is an Abstract Architectural Watercolor artist and has been painting watercolor since 2012. She obtained her BFA from University of North Florida in 2012. Over the last 11 years, she has been traveling to different countries as well as around her native city. Her love of architecture is displayed in her watercolor and ink paintings while using the drawing method called blind contour drawing and it is created on a smooth paper called“yupo”paper. Each painting is meant to capture a moment in time without the interruption of people. You will not see much human interaction within her art. She loves to teach. She is an Art Instructor with Duval County Schools, local places her in Jacksonville, and her workshops are now in session. She also offers private watercolor lessons at her studio.
