This forum is a community conversation to better the mental health system in Florida. Join us to bring awareness, information and resources about the mental health rights of patients and their family. The event will be available via zoom as well. We want everyone to find out about new resources, to share similar experiences and eventually bring about positive changes. This is a candid discussion on the impact mental health treatment can have on one's human rights. Find out how one can take action while protecting vulnerable persons and their rights. Specific Points of Discussion: 1. The Florida Baker Act, its history and its impact. 2. The Informed Consent right. 3. Action steps to help mental health patients. 4. Available community resources.
