Other

1901 Fort Place Southeast,Washington DC 20020

23 April, 2023

Description

On this 2.3 mile, mostly flat ramble through verdant spring forests, you'll see examples of the work we're done and the work that pays ahead to remove legacy trash, beat back invasive vines, reduce littering and dumping, and improve the trail. We'll also stop to identify trees, flowers, and songbirds. Please wear boots or sneakers you don't mind getting dirty. Bring a water bottle and bug spray. If you are interested in identify plants and animals we encounter, we recommend downloading the iNaturalist app to your smart phone. The hike starts at the Anacostia Community Museum and end up at the Francis Gregory Library near the intersection of Pennsylvania and Alabama Avenues. From there you will have the option of departing from there by bus or car or walking 2.3 miles back to the museum. For questions or concerns before, during or after the event, call Nathan Harrington at 202-520-2742.
