Harvard Climate Initiative Committee and Harvard Energy Advisory Committee invite you to Earth Day Show and Tell Around Town.
• Open Houses – many of your neighbors throughout town invite you to their homes to learn about their experience with advances like efficient heating and cooling systems (mini-splits, ducted air source, geothermal), solar systems, battery storage systems, induction stoves, air source hot water systems and more.
• Organic and Regenerative Farming Practice Open Houses - homes/farms will showcase a variety of pollinator gardens, vegetable gardens, planting techniques, composting systems, solar fencing, and electric lawn equipment. Some will host talks about their areas of expertise.
• Electric Vehicle Petting Zoo – We’ll have a variety of electric cars, an F150 truck, and electric bikes/tricycles. Their owners will be present to talk about their experiences and answer your questions
• Community Organizations – There will be presentations about how organizations are tackling areas of concern to many residents: recycling, composting, light pollution, wetlands, invasive weed clean-up, pond health, watershed, and more. Harvard Conservation Trust will distribute Tree for All: Northern Spice Bush seedlings to all members of HCT.
• Vendors – meet vendors who sell air and ground source heat pump systems, solar installations, landscaping services, electric power equipment, MassSave energy audits.
• Kids Activities – in addition to the playground for kids to play, the Boy Scouts and Bromfield’s Green Team will be offering activities with an environmental education twist!
• American Chestnut Restoration Project - join an educational walking tour of this important project.
