Colony Woodstock and Eric Squindo Presents
The Woodstock Album Series: Nashville Skyline / Planet Waves)
With the release of Nashville Skyline on April 9, 1969, Bob Dylan once again altered the future of popular music. A brilliant infusion of roots/country with rock & roll, the songs defined a genre and influenced a generation. Written primarily while living in the seclusion of Woodstock, NY, the album features Elliott Landy's iconic cover photo of Dylan outside his Byrdcliffe home, and has become a beloved gem of Americana.
Planet Waves returned Dylan to his Woodstock roots once more as he and The Band reunited for a three day recording session in the fall of 1973. The collaboration led to a successful tour, was Bob's first chart topping release, and has become a cult favorite for its simplistic elegance and tragic beauty.
This special night of music will include both albums in their entirety as an array of Hudson Valley artists deliver their take on these Dylan classics, including 'Lay Lady Lay', 'Girl From the North Country', 'Forever Young', and 'You Angel You'.
Eric Squindo Presents (ESP) has been delivering unique and memorable tribute shows to the Colony stage since 2019. Paying homage to singer/songwriters ranging from Tom Waits to Dolly Parton, this show is the first in a series that will honor classic Woodstock related albums.
