Have you ever wanted to learn to dye your own quilt fabric …. but have no idea where to start? Selecting fabric, choosing dye, understanding how the chemicals work and knowing how to wash it out safely is all a bit overwhelming for someone new to dying. Join us as the expert dye artists at Jammin on Vegas teach you all about the process of tie dye and dip dying at this event. They’ll have all the supplies you need, clean up all the mess and answer all of your questions. You’ll leave the event with 2 full yards of KONA Cotton fabric you dyed YOURSELF. You'll just need to wash it out at home following the instructions. Fee: $50 per person to cover dye, supplies, 2 yards of white Kona cotton and instruction This event is limited to 30 people and you MUST RSVP and pay in advance so the fabric can be ordered. On event day, each participant will receive 2 yards of prepared for dying Kona cotton and a set of gloves. You may divide your fabric into FQs or FE’s as you see fit. Jay Strebel, world famous tie dye artist, will teach us how to dye each FQ/FE in a different design, including how to mark the fabric, fold and tie and then how to apply the dye. Jammin will supply all the fabric, pre mixed dye, chemical, string and other supplies. Each FQ or FE will be placed in a ziplock bag with wash out instructions. The dye MUST sit for a full 24 hours prior to wash out in order to get the best results. Participants will be encouraged to post photos of their dyed fabric after wash out to the Guild Facebook page.
