Are you going to the next Viva Calle? Come with us to April's Viva CalleSJ event - on bikes!Been to many Viva Calle events? Or maybe this is your first?! Either way, join SVBC’s Santa Clara Local Team on a leisurely group ride to San Jose’s premier open streets event, Viva Calle! Join the Local Team and SVBC Ride Leaders on a quick jaunt from Santa Clara to the Viva Calle route in San Jose (the actual Viva Calle route will be shared here when it is released). Come early or inquire along the ride to learn a little about the Santa Clara Local Team’s efforts to create safer streets as we will have representatives from the team leading the ride. SVBC staff will be on hand to do helmet fittings, make minor adjustments, and answer any questions regarding road and bike safety before and throughout the ride. Event Agenda (subject to change):9:30 AM - Pre-ride (a shorter ride intended for those who live closer to the trailhead or want to start slightly earlier)E - Meet at the San Tomas Aquino Creek Trailhead at Agnew 10:00 AM - Main ride - Meet at the San Tomas Aquino Creek Trailhead on Monroe 10:15 AM - Ride to Viva CalleSJ - route to be shared in advance of the ride! 11:00 AM - Arrive at the Viva Calle route 11:00 AM - 2:30 PM - Party on at the South Bay's greatest Open Streets event! 2:15 PM - Gather up for departure ride - exact meetup location to be announced in advance! 2:30 PM - Ride departs back to Santa Clara 3:00 PM - Viva CalleSJ closes down and streets re-open to traffic What to bring:A working bicycle Flat repair kit (optional) Layers of clothing given the weather forecast Sun protection Helmet Water Snacks Other Information:If you'd like to volunteer to help keep riders safe on the street, please sign up for a Volunteer Ride Support ticket. If you’d like to learn or touch up your Ride Leader/Support skills, sign up for SVBC’s group ride workshop here! Viva Calle is a day that shows us how fun and safe the streets can be when they are closed to cars and open for life! Roller skates, wheelchairs, bikes, trikes, pogo sticks, scooters, and any non-motorized mode of fun is welcome!
