Did you know that mental illness, stress, depression and sadly, suicide rates are the highest among two unique demographics: First Responders and Foster/At Risk Youth. Tragically the following stats are true: • 19.4 MILLION children live without their biological father in the home • 80% of Foster Youth suffer from a significant mental illness • Police Officers are at higher risk for suicide than any otherprofession • 80% of homeless & prison population come from foster care or fatherless backgrounds, deepening the divide is that oftentimes the last interactions these youth had with a First Responder was either the removal from their home, an arrest, or probation visit. Not only will your financial support of our “First Responder Appreciation Concert’’ provide you and your team a fun night to honor our local HEROES, you are directly impacting and saving the lives of our kids of Oahu.
