REALTORS are required to attend a NAR-approved Ethics training class every 2 years.
Non-Realtors are welcomed (and encouraged) to attend, and will receive 3 Hrs CE Credit. This is a very informative class with a lot of REAL-WORLD discussion and interaction!
This course is approved by the National Association of Realtors to meet the current Quadrennial required Ethics training cycle. Students who successfully complete the course will receive a Certificate of Completion to provide to their Board of REALTORS, in addition to the 3 Hrs CE Credit.
While the Code of Ethics establishes obligations that may be higher than those mandated by law, in any instance where the Code of Ethics and the law conflict, the obligations of the law must take precedence.
When representing a buyer, seller, landlord, tenant, or other client as an agent pledged themselves to protect and promote the interests of their client. This obligation to the client is primary, but it does not relieve Realtors of their obligation to treat all parties honestly. When serving a buyer, seller, landlord, tenant or other party in a non agency captivity Realtors remain obligated to treat all parties honestly.
