We'll gather at the Columbia Heights Public Library at 9 am to hand out safety vests and garbage bags. Then, we'll figure out street/park assignments for all volunteers. (Park assignments are made for families with young children who participate.) Each group goes to their area and safely picks up trash from the sidewalks and vegetation along the sidewalks (or park). Thanks to the City of Columbia Heights for supplying us with trash bags and additional trash pickups for the garbage! HeightsNEXT couldn't do our work without our community partners and volunteers like you! Dress for the weather. Wear gloves to pick up trash safely. The event will be canceled if there is dangerous weather, but otherwise, this happens rain or shine. *All ages are welcome, but children must be supervised. Families with young children will be assigned to parks.
