Leslie, Chad, and their children reside in the Tampa Bay area. Vennie Talley. Founder of City of Refuge. The City of Refuge was birthed on February 28, 2003 after Pastor Talley struggled for years with a vision to give women who served time in prison another opportunity to be an asset to our society. City of Refuge is committed to improving the quality of life of recently released incarcerated women by providing a safe living environment including education, job assistance, life skills, and Christian discipleship. The women can then live spiritually, emotionally, financially, and physically productive lifes that bring about a positive influence to those around them. In and out of jail several times before receiving Christ, Pastor Talley says this ministry was the blessing that evolved from the darkest 7 years of her life when she was arrested 5 times. Pastor Vennie can relate to women who feel as though they are trapped in their environment, not seeing a way out. Her heart is to help women see that their way out is through Jesus Christ. Krystal Rusch. Set Free Counseling. Krystal is a Christian therapist and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), with a master’s degree in social work. She has lived in the Tampa Bay area for most of her life, has been married for 23 years and has three children. She has been counseling women for the past 5 years, serving in many different ministries for the past 24 years and recently founded Set Free Counseling. She uses her personal experiences, faith, and education to offer a place of hope, healing, and restoration. Karen Hanson. Executive & Women’s Pastor, New Hope Church & Senior Chaplain at the Pinellas County Jail. Pastor Karen effectively communicates the word of God with clarity, authenticity, and humor as she challenges women to see themselves through the eyes of Jesus. After surrendering her life to Jesus in 1995, Pastor Karen has dedicated her life to encourage and to empower others to achieve their full potential.
