The Ring-Necked Pheasant is one of Detroit's most colorful residents, and their story--why and how they got here--is just as interesting. Join Detroit Audubon on a morning walk in search of this fancy gamebird that calls our city home! Detroit Audubon board member and pheasant enthusiast Diane Cheklich will be leading this beginner- and family-friendly walk (walking will be approximately 8-15 city blocks over generally level terrain--paved roads and empty, grass-covered lots).
This program will begin at 8:30 am, so please plan to arrive a few minutes early to park and check in. We will meet at Brewery Faisan, go on a 1.5 hours walk around the area as we search for Pheasants, then come back for a showing of "Pheasants in Detroit'.
After 10:30am, attendees are welcome to stay for snacks and brews supplied by Brewery Faisan. (Important Note- The snacks and brews are not free, be sure to bring money to pay if you choose to partake and Identification proving you're over the age of 21 in order to drink. )
