Gravity Haus/Highlander Events Ruck

This event will be led by Coach Amy of Dryland Fitness and Matt Ponder of Highlander Events at Green Mountain starting at 7am at the trail head on 1000 S. Rooney Road. This will be a 4.3 mile ruck with 847ft of elevation gain. A dynamic warm up will start the event off (led by Amy) then Matt will lead the trail, starting with a steady climb to the peak and then a cruise down to the trail head. This event is in preparation for Highlander Events upcoming race in Steamboat Springs on June 10 at Howelsen Hill. The event will be a 7 mile timed race through the beautiful Emerald Mountain. Rucking is PRIMAL- Dating back to our hunter gatherer era and in more recent history: rucking is/was solely a military training tactic, meant to prep soldiers for long missions during which they carried their means of livelihood and weaponry along with them, on foot. For us, rucking is simply walking, at any given speed with a weighted backpack and/or rucksack on! A practical application of rucking to a civilian may be backpacking (aka camping but carrying your means of survival on your back, while on foot). Rucksacks will be provided courtesy of Highlander Events and GoRuck.
