Volunteers are the heart and soul of The Bird Rescue Center. And it won’t be long before hundreds of birds start showing up in need of our care. If you are 13 years or older, are not immune-compromised and can commit to working at least one 4-hour shift each week through August, attend our orientation on Saturday, April 1st! Please note, this is a serious commitment—the work you will perform is literally life-saving.
With the ongoing effects of the avian flu, we will be hosting this orientation in our outdoor education area with an abbreviated tour of our outer aviaries of the rehabilitation hospital. Please wear appropriate shoes for uneven, outdoor surfaces.
As this will be outdoors masks are not required, but still recommended according to Sonoma County's most recent mandate.
A calendar invite will be sent after orientation for training classes. If you'd like to check your calendar now, classes will be offered from 9a-12p and 1-4p on Saturdays and Thursdays as follows. Attendance is required for all 4 classes per session.
