Tonight, we feature the Latsos Piano duo: 4 Hands, 2 Pianists, 1 Piano THE LATSOS Piano Duo, has been praised for its “brilliance and stylistic insight” by Los Angeles Weekly. A music critic of their recital in the European Press wrote: "...while hearing them one thinks, not of two pianist at two pianos, but of twenty fingers at a double keyboard controlled by a single mind". The duo was enthusiastically formed in 2014 by pianists Giorgi Latso and his wife Anna Fedorova-Latso. Since then, they have showcased a true passion, deep maturity and sensitivity in their interpretations. The Latsos are a favorite among many concert organizers and promoters with the Asia Pacific Press calling their performances “thrilling and flamboyant” and the MTNA State Conference hails their "intelligence, liveliness and enormous charm’'. The pianists have developed a close relationship with a living American composer Joe Giarrusso, who created and dedicated some four-hand pieces especially for them. They have also arranged for 2 pianos and four-hands transcriptions from a selected American movie scores by the celebrated composers such as John Williams, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, John Sousa, etc. and has been hailed "one of the finest transcribers of our time" in the Los Angeles Daily News. Hailed by the UMNA National Teachers Conference in Utah for their “stellar musicianship, technical brilliance, and awe-inspiring artistry”. Tonight, the Latsos Duo will play: - J. GIARRUSSO: - ‘Serenade’ for Piano, Four Hands, Op. 66 - F. MENDELSSOHN: Variations for Piano, Four Hands - Stars and Stripes Forever: Four Hands, arr. Nunzio Sisto Come early and socialize with fellow chamber music enthusiasts! The concert in THEATRE 3 starts at 7:00 pm. General Admission is $ 20 per show, or $30 per month (two shows) with a monthly subscription through June of 2023. Proceeds benefit Youth Training Orchestras of America and the Palm Springs Cultural Center Theatre 3 Renovation.
