PJ's Coffee of New Orleans in Northlake is honored to welcome our very own Roastmaster, Felton Jones, to our Northlake location. With over 25+ years of roasting experience, Felton Jones is responsible for perfecting the flavor profiles of all our New Orleans Roast products including our delicious PJ's Gourmet Coffee! Let's just say he knows a thing or two about coffee. During this event, Felton will explain the history of PJ's Coffee and conduct a coffee cupping for all attendees. So What is a Cupping? It is an opportunity to sample different roasts and blends from PJ's Coffee. You'll enjoy a presentation about the origins of our amazing coffee origins and lean a a little about the roasting process from the Roastmaster himself! This is part of Felton's "Texas-Cupping Tour" and is one of his first opportunities to showcase his incredible expertise outside of his hometown in New Orleans. FELTON JONES-The Roastmaster Mr. Felton Jones, III joined the PJ's Coffee production team in 1993 under the direction of Phyllis Jordan, PJ's Coffee's founder. From 1996-99, Mr. Jones moved to a position with Coffee House Inc. where he became General Manager of Coffee Operations and began his journey towards gaining Roastmaster status. In 1999, Mr. Jones returned to PJ's Coffee at the request of Phyllis Jordan to assume the position of VP of Wholesale Operations and Quality Control Manager. In 2003, Mr. Jones achieved his status as Roastmaster, and Coffee Buyer for PJ's Coffee. Mr. Jones is certified by the Specialty Coffee Association of America in green coffee purchasing and contracts, and now serves as Chief Roastmaster and Brand Ambassador for New Orleans Roast, LLC.
