Welcome to this special event highlighting the good work of Pete's Garden. Sample the typical foods that Pete's Garden distributes and learn more about how their food recovery program is helping to reduce food waste and enable family mealtime. Wine pairings have been selected by the experts at Cellar Rat Wine Merchants located at 1701 Baltimore KCMO. Music performance by the Tim Reid Jr. Trio and their broad ranging musical style. Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral is thrilled to partner with Pete's Garden in our Founders Hall facilities which was originally planned and built to feed the hungry of Kansas City in 1999. With this event, we hope to get others as excited about Pete's Garden as we are. We have free parking in our surface lots and are walking distance from the streetcar line. About Pete's Garden Pete's Garden was founded in January 2020 to recover high quality prepared foods from restaurants, caterers, and food service operations and redirect this food as free, take-home family dinners. This year we expect to distribute over 100,000 meals to an expanding list of local social service agencies including: Operation Breakthrough, Jewish Family Services, Boys & Girls Club, and several local food pantries. With your help we can do more! Help us spread the word to restaurants and caterers; many of them are not aware that they can easily and safely donate prepared foods to Pete's Garden. Volunteer to assist us in receiving, re-packaging and distributing prepared meals to agencies throughout Kansas City.
