My name is Vickie Osborn, and I am the Director of Administrative Services at Tyler Family Assistance Center (TFAC), a ministry of First Baptist Church Tyler. Like me and my co-workers, you may have been frustrated at times with trying to help your clients with needs that are out of your scope as a ministry or agency. We sometimes send our clients on a rabbit chase in an effort to solve a particular problem. Many of those problems could easily be solved if we just knew what resource to use. TFAC is hosting an informal gathering of local food pantries and ministries on May 4th, 12:00pm-2:30pm. The purpose of this meeting is to share what we are doing, how we can cooperate with each other, and to determine what needs are not being met. By working together, we can reinforce our individual ministries while making lives in our community easier. Lunch will be served at 12:00pm. There is no set charge for the lunch, but a donation jar will be available should you wish to contribute. We will have representatives from a few agencies who work with the hunger issue. The main focus will be to share what is being done through the various ministries and agencies we each represent. Please join us for a time of fellowship, sharing, and inspiration as we work together to make our communities stronger.
