Join Kirsten Book, PMHNP-BC, psychiatric nurse practitioner of Kirsten Book LLC, Dr. Laura Sambrookes, of Aurora Pediatric Therapy and Integrative Health, and Dr. Patrick McDonnell, owner and chiropractor, of Proper Chiropractic in discussing a multidisciplianry approach to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). ADHD is also one of the most common neurobiological disorders among children today. About 6.1 million children in the United States (9.4 percent) between ages 2 to 17 are estimated to have ever been diagnosed with ADHD, according to a 2021 study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We will review ADHD, a neurodevelopmental disorder, in discussing how the treatment of ADHD is a multidisciplinary approach that may include psychiatric support, chiropractic care, speech language pathology and occupational therapies.
