Other

3606 Blackhawk Drive,Madison WI 53705

29 April, 2023

Description

History tells us that Jane practiced at the keyboard every day, even copying pieces she especially liked. Sweep away the last remnants of winter and join your fellow JASNA-Wisconsin members in Madison for our annual spring luncheon and a program featuring music of the period. Join professional musician Dr. Trevor Stephenson for an afternoon of history and live music highlighting the composers Jane would have been familiar with as well as pieces found in the Austen family song books. Indeed as Mrs. Elton declared in Emma, “... without music, life would be a blank to me." Enrich your life with an afternoon of delightful music and sparkling conversation. About the Presenter: Originally from Kansas City, MO and now living in Madison, WI, Dr. Trevor Stephenson has been playing keyboard instruments since age 10. He received a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Historical Performance of Eighteenth-Century Music from Cornell University and tours regularly throughout the United States regularly giving concerts, lectures and masterclasses. He is Artistic Director of the Madison Bach Musicians and founder of Light & Shadow, a concert and recording company. https://trevorstephenson.com/ The reservation deadline for this event is April 16.
