Description

I am so excited to offer this class. Lately a lot of what I do is includes watercolor, pastel, and watercolor pencils. I am happy that I get to share my exploration of these materials with you. For this workshop, we will use watercolor as a start to explore these materials and then we will create a landscape from these materials. I will show you different techniques to use each materials before we create our very own painting. We will be starting with watercolor first, then we will add the dry mediums, pastels and watercolor pencils, to help create different layers and textures. The cool thing about these materials is they can be added to wet watercolor. Next, we will add Molding paste to form different shapes on your paper with a palette knife. We will create a landscape image using all these materials and I will show you how to do it. I love creating with these materials because there is no limit to what you can do since they all work well together. I love to create little abstracts or landscapes. This workshop is to help you learn how to use these materials to explore watercolor, and use these tools to create your own art for future projects. Let’s explore these materials together. This workshop also includes a Faber-Castel Watercolor Pencil, a Soft-pastel, and a Round watercolor Brush, to take home. All supplies will be provided. Beginners Welcome!!! Teresa Cook is born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She is an Abstract Architectural Watercolor artist and has been painting watercolor since 2012. She obtained her BFA from University of North Florida in 2012. Over the last 11 years, she has been traveling to different countries as well as around her native city. Her love of architecture is displayed in her watercolor and ink paintings while using the drawing method called blind contour drawing and it is created on smooth paper called “yupo”paper. Each painting is meant to capture a moment in time without the interruption of people. You will not see much human interaction within her art. She loves to teach. She is an Art Instructor with Duval County Schools, local places her in Jacksonville, and her workshops are now in session. She also offers private watercolor lessons at her studio.
