About Tinie and Julia: Tinie and Julia are members of Winchester Trails, which provides nature walks for elementary school children in Winchester. Both have extensive training in the natural history of New England.
About the hike: On this early morning walk, we’ll explore the flora and fauna on the trails around Long Pond. We'll look for migrant song birds such as warblers and vireos, as well evidence of resident birds establishing territories and nesting. We’ll pay particular attention to the habitats and plant communities that attract the various kinds of birds.
We’ll meet at the Hillcrest Parkway entrance to the Long Pond nature trail, opposite 100 Hillcrest Pkwy.
Please bring binoculars if you have them.
