Event Description:
The Earth Day 2023 event will take place at the WCB Aliso Creek Restoration Site to restore 21 acres of land while providing volunteers an opportunity to learn about local flora and fauna. Mechanical removal of invasive species is crucial for ecological restoration to promote the growth of native plants and prevent the further spread of invasive plants. Volunteers will also help water newly planted native plants, remove tree sentries, and dispose of trash found on the site. In addition, volunteers will hand-pull invasive species within a 10' buffer of trails using small hand tools to ensure the growth of native plants.
Meeting Point: The restoration work will be done near Laguna Niguel Skate and Soccer Park. Please meet at the basketball courts.
