Celebrate Yom Ha'atzmaut with the flavors of Israel and a live concert by Ethiopian Israeli Gili Yalo. Combining his Ethiopian musical roots with soul, reggae, funk, psychedelia and jazz, Gili’s soulful voice has elicited comparisons to Bob Marley. Backed by his powerhouse band, Gili’s concerts generate an entrancing groove, beat, and flow, with exceptional melodies and original lyrics in English, Hebrew and Amharic.
Delicious Israeli foods will be provided by Dvash Catering.
Prior to the concert, the Jewish Clergy Council of New Orleans will lead a ceremony in the Grant Board Room honoring those who have fallen during the wars and acts of terrorism since the birth of the State of Israel.
