This workshop is facilitated for movers of all levels and abilities to explore deepening themselves through the use of authentic movement, contact improv, art processing, journaling, and inquiry-based exploration. All relational movement will be trauma-informed, consent-based and heavily influenced by Rosenberg's non-violent communication techniques. This movement lab is perfect for anyone who is: -a mover new to studio dance classes looking to feel more comfortable in their body and find their unique 'voice' in movement -seasoned dancers who are looking to expand their creative movement palette and break through old movement patterns -partner dancers who are looking to build confidence and strength in their own movement to more fully support their dance partners -anyone looking to explore their relationship to themselves more deeply -artists who are looking for new ways to inspire their craft Suggested donation: $20 Please wear comfortable clothes you can move in. It is optional (but recommended) to bring a journal for reflections. Art supplies will be provided. Although this workshop will be structured with the intention to center the experience of queer folx, curious movers of all backgrounds and identities are welcome.
